Kelly Lee, NP

Certified Nurse Practitioners (NP) are medical providers formally trained in a post graduate courses from one of many accredited academic medical model training programs in the U.S. Mrs. Kelly Lee graduated as an Honors Graduate from the Nurse Practitioner Program at Texas Women’s University (TWU) in 2001. Kelly has also done fellowship programs in anti-aging treatment, Botox and Collagen Fillers.

Before beginning her education as a NP, she received bachelor of science degree in nursing from TWU, graduating magna cum laude.

To remain nationally certified, Mrs. Lee  must complete 70 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) every 5 years, or pass a national recertification examination every 6 years.

Nurse practitioners (170,000 as of 2007) nationwide remain mostly in primary care, the rest can be found in every medical and surgical specialty, including dermatology.

Nurse Practitioners have been practicing with dermatologists for 20 years, providing a wide variety of services, including diagnosis, prescription, ordering and interpreting lab tests, wound suturing, and medical or surgical treatment of a wide variety of clinical pathology. Dermatology NPs are legally and ethically bound to practice ONLY under supervision by their employing physician.

Starting with her undergraduate training and experience, Mrs. Lee has studied dermatology in a variety of ways, including on the job training with dermatologists, through 100 hours of required CME every 2 years, dermatology lectures and seminars, attendance at American Academy of Dermatology education conferences, tumor board meetings, dermatology grand rounds and the Masters Course in Dermatology.

Kelly Lee is a member of the following professional organizations:

  • American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
  • Dermatology Nurses Association

You may rest assured that your care is still managed by me, Dr. Angela Moore and that we will work as a team for your dermatologic concerns. Dr. Moore believes that adding a NP to her dermatology practice will enable ACD to provide you with greater accessibility and prompt care, greatly benefiting our patients. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
