Dr. Angela Yen Moore, MD

Angela Moore, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist who seeks to provide efficient but quality medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology service to patients.

Dr. Moore was co-Valedictorian of Arlington High School in 1985. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with Special Honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from University of Texas at Austin in 1988.

She graduated from Baylor Medical School in Houston in 1992. Then she completed an internship in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) in 1993 and a residency in Dermatology at UTMB in 1996. She completed her formal education with a fellowship in Dermatopathology at UTMB in 1997.

She began her professional career as Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at UTMB in 1997.

After her marriage to Todd Moore, M.D., in 1998, Dr. Moore moved back to the Metroplex.

Since 1998, she has been active in teaching and research at University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas (UTSW) as Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology and treating patients in Arlington. She has hospital privileges at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington.

Currently, her research at UTSW is focusing on finding molecular predictors of metastasis and survival in melanomas.

Publications and Presentations

Dr. Moore has published more than 30 manuscripts in peer-reviewed medical journals and 10 chapters in medical textbooks.

Dr. Moore is currently co-editing a book entitled Mucocutaneous Manifestations of Viral Diseases with the internationally recognized viral expert and researcher, Stephen K. Tyring, M.D., Ph.D.

She has been invited to speak or present at more than 20 international, 40 national, and 40 regional meetings.

1999 Dallas Fort Worth Dermatologic Society Practicing Physicians “Case of the Year” Award.

1999-2001 Dermatology Foundation Clinical Career Development Award.

1999-2000 Dermatology Foundation Research Grant “Molecular Predictors of Metastasis and Survival in Intermediate-thickness Melanomas.”

1999-2000 The Skin Cancer Foundation Frederic E. Mohs Grant “Predictors of Metastasis and Survival in Intermediate-thickness Melanomas.”

1998 World Congress Fund Travel Scholarship to the 1998 International Investigative Dermatology Meeting in Cologne, Germany, “Expression of Human Herpesvirus 8 Cellular Homologue Genes in Kaposi’s Sarcoma.”

1997 World Congress Fund Travel Scholarship to the 19th World Congress of Dermatology in Sydney, Australia “Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) in Cutaneous Malignant and Autoimmune Lesions: Sequence Variability of HHV-8 DNA in Kaposi’s Sarcoma, Squamous Carcinomas, and Pemphigus.”
